The price of laser cleaning depends on whether you buy a machine, rent one or have the cleaning done as a service. Our price list runs from a daily rental of €450 to a machine costing €175,500 (excl. VAT).
The figures are the same as on the pages for laser cleaning machines and rentals and in the online store, so you can check them yourself. Below you will find machine purchase prices, rental prices, leasing and the costs that do not appear on a machine’s price tag.
W2M Industries Oy is a Finnish company founded in 2017. The products are made in Finland, and every delivery includes operator training. The prices are public in our online store, so you can calculate the options before the first call.
What does laser cleaning cost?
Laser cleaning costs €5,500–€175,500 with your own machine and €450–€900 per day when rented, and the price of a service depends on the job. Prices exclude VAT. The cheapest option depends on how often you clean: for a one-off job, a rental or outsourcing is enough, and for recurring work, your own machine. You can also get your own machine through leasing, which is available for all models.
| Option | Price (excl. VAT) | What the price includes | Suitable when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Own machine | €5,500–€175,500 | machine, operator training, factory warranty of 12 months or 2 years | cleaning is done repeatedly |
| Leasing | 60-month contract for W2MCF and W2MCW machines, for example €369/month (W2MCF-60BP) and €3,159/month (W2MCF-1000X) | machine in use without a one-time investment | the need is ongoing |
| Rental | €450–€900/day, €2,250–€4,500/week | machine, support during the rental, training €75 (free with a weekly rental) | the job is temporary or you want to test |
| Service | depends on the job | machine, work and result | you want to focus on your own core work |
The price depends on how much you use the machine, so it is worth calculating the three options side by side before deciding.
What makes up the price of laser cleaning?
The price of the machine depends on power and range. Weight, cooling and electrical connection tell you how the machine moves and what it requires of the facility. The cost of using it depends on protective equipment, local exhaust ventilation, training and transport. Both sides belong in the same calculation.
Power and range
The price rises with power in both ranges. The mini cleaners are 20–50 W machines, the W2MCF range covers 60–1,000 W and the continuous-wave W2MCW range 1–3 kW. The prices of the ranges partly overlap: the 1,000 W W2MCF-1000X costs more than the 3 kW W2MCW-3000, so wattage alone does not tell you the price.
Weight, cooling and electrical connection
The smallest mini cleaner weighs about 7 kg. The W2MCF-60BP weighs 24 kg and is air-cooled, whereas the W2MCF-1000X weighs 226 kg and is water-cooled. The heavy W2MCW-1000 and W2MCW-3000 weigh 250 kg each. The 3 kW model needs a three-phase 16 A connection, which is worth checking at your own facility before ordering. If the machine has to move with the operator, backpack-model W2MCF machines are made up to 300 W.
Protective equipment and local exhaust ventilation
According to the laser devices page of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK), the power of laser devices intended for professional use is not restricted, and they can be hazardous, especially to the eyes. That is why protective equipment is part of the total cost. In our online store, the prices are as follows (excl. VAT):
- Laser safety glasses OD8+: €150
- Supplied-air respirator: €795, when the object releases a lot of dust or fumes
- Laser safety curtains: €1,125 (1.5 x 2.0 m) or a protective acrylic screen at €1,125 per square meter for a fixed workstation
- Local exhaust ventilation: W2M Smoke Cleaner XL300 extractor €2,730 or XL500 €3,700
For example, laser safety glasses, a supplied-air respirator and an XL300 extractor cost €3,675 in total (excl. VAT). A fixed workstation with curtains raises the total.
Training, transport and spare parts
Operator training is included in the machine delivery and typically lasts 4–6 hours. In a rental, product and safety training costs €75, but with a weekly rental it is free of charge. If we deliver and collect the machine, transport is billed at €75 per hour plus €0.90 per kilometer driven (excl. VAT).
The protective lens of the cleaning head is a spare part that costs €80 (excl. VAT) for cleaning machines up to 300 W.
What does not appear on the bill
Laser cleaning requires no blasting media or cleaning chemicals. No water is needed either. However, extraction filters and protective lenses in the cleaning head need to be replaced as required. No chemical waste is produced, and vaporized dirt is collected by the local exhaust ventilation, so waste costs stay small. The area around the work site does not need separate protection, and no cleanup afterwards is needed. Because the method is not hot work, one person can do it. These items are worth entering in the comparison calculation next to your current method, because that is exactly where the difference comes from.
Machine purchase price (mini, W2MCF, W2MCL, W2MCW)
All our laser cleaning machines are fiber lasers. When you compare prices from different sellers, also look at what the price includes. Below is our range with prices, and the same machines can be bought directly from our online store.

Mini cleaners: €5,500–€7,250
The mini cleaners are the first on the market. They use the same MOPA pulsed laser technology as our larger machines and are suited to cleaning weld seams and rust. They are the most affordable machines in our range. We present the models on our laser cleaning page.
W2MCF range: €19,950–€175,500
The machines in the W2MCF range are MOPA lasers, also known as pulsed lasers. They are lighter and smaller than the heavy-duty CW machines but powerful enough for demanding professional use. The price range is wide because the same range includes a 24 kg air-cooled 60 W machine and a 226 kg water-cooled 1,000 W machine.
W2MCL-200: €74,500
The W2MCL-200 is a 200 W air-cooled fiber laser that weighs 52.5 kg and runs on a single-phase electrical connection. The factory warranty is two years, and the monthly leasing payment on a 60-month contract is €1,380 (excl. VAT).
W2MCW range: €95,000–€139,000
The W2MCW range consists of continuous-wave (CW) lasers for large surfaces where thick paint, heavy rust or industrial dirt has to be removed. It is intended for situations where there is a lot of material to remove and large surfaces are cleaned repeatedly. The 3 kW W2MCW-3000 is also available for rent, so you can try the heavy machine at a daily rental of €750 before the €139,000 purchase.
What the purchase price includes
A machine purchase includes operator training and the factory warranty, and maintenance and spare parts are handled by our own service team. The control system language can be set to Finnish, Swedish or English.
Rental vs. purchase vs. service
Renting is a good fit when the cleaning need is temporary, project-based or seasonal, or when you want to test laser cleaning before deciding to buy. Our rentals page lists prices for four machines (excl. VAT; a day is 8 hours, a week 7 days):
| Machine | Daily rental | Weekly rental | Purchase price |
|---|---|---|---|
| W2MCF-200X (200 W) | €450 | €2,250 | €78,350 |
| W2MCF-300X (300 W) | €650 | €3,250 | €110,500 |
| W2MCF-500X (500 W) | €900 | €4,500 | €155,500 |
| W2MCW-3000 (3 kW) | €750 | €3,750 | €139,000 |
If rust or paint has to be removed from only one object, compare rental days, not the purchase price. The table shows two things that make the choice easier. For every machine, the weekly rental costs the same as five daily rentals, so when the job takes five days or more, the weekly rental is at least as cheap. In addition, training, which costs €75 with a daily rental, is included in the weekly rental.
For example, a three-day job with the W2MCF-300X costs €1,950 in rental and €75 in training, €2,025 in total. For a five-day job, the daily rentals and training would come to €3,325, while the weekly rental including training is €3,250.
The second observation concerns buying. On paper, about 34–37 weekly rentals add up to the purchase price of the machine, not counting transport and training. If the machine is needed for only a few weeks a year, renting is clearly less of a burden. When cleaning is done every week, your own machine or leasing can work out cheaper than renting, because the chemical, blasting media and waste costs disappear.
Four questions before deciding
Before you request a quote, answer four questions for yourself. They show which option works out cheapest for your particular job.
- How often do you clean? A temporary, project-based or seasonal need favors renting, an ongoing need your own machine or leasing.
- How big and dirty is the object? Weld seams and small rust spots are handled with a mini cleaner, while large surfaces and thick paint require the W2MCF or W2MCW range.
- Does the machine move with the operator? A backpack model and light machines travel with the user, whereas a 250 kg W2MCW machine is transported to the site and the user moves within the length of the connecting cable.
- Who does the cleaning? If you have no operator of your own or you lack the time, the service frees up your staff for their core work.
Your answers help us suggest a suitable machine and power.
Service: the work and the result from us
The third option is to hand the whole cleaning job over to us. In that case we are responsible for the machine, the work and the result, and we quote the price based on the job. Compare the price of the service and of a machine with the total cost of your current method, meaning materials, protection, cleanup and working hours, not with zero.
Leasing
Leasing is available for all laser cleaning machines, including the mini cleaners. For W2MCF and W2MCW machines, the contract length is 60 months, and the contract includes a residual value of about 10 percent. On the online store’s product pages, the monthly payment is, for example, €369 (W2MCF-60BP) and €3,159 (W2MCF-1000X), excl. VAT. With leasing, the machine is in use for the entire contract period, so it suits a situation where the cleaning need is ongoing but you do not want to pay for the machine in one go.
Compare leasing with renting over the same time period. If you would rent the machine for several months a year, it is worth calculating the monthly payment and the sum of the rental days side by side. For the duration of a single project, renting is more flexible, because the agreement ends when the machine is returned. You can get a machine-specific leasing quote from us. Check in the quote what the monthly payment includes and what happens when the contract period ends.
Try before you decide
Our laser cleaning machines are made in Finland. The factory warranty is two years for W2MCF and W2MCW models and 12 months for the mini cleaners. Tell us what you clean, how often and where, and we will calculate the prices of buying, renting and the service side by side for you.
For rentals, delivery and pickup of the machine cost €75 per hour and €0.90 per kilometer (excl. VAT). The machines available for rent and the rental terms are on the rentals page.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the cheapest laser cleaning machine cost?
The cheapest machine is the 20 W W2MFC-20BP mini cleaner, which costs €5,500 (excl. VAT). It weighs about 7 kg, and its factory warranty is 12 months. The mini cleaners are made for cleaning weld seams and rust from small metal surfaces. If the surfaces are large or there is a lot of dirt, also compare the price with the W2MCF range.
What does it cost to rent a laser cleaning machine per day?
The daily rental is €450–€900 depending on the machine (excl. VAT), and a rental day is 8 hours. Of the machines on our rentals page, the cheapest is the 200 W W2MCF-200X and the most expensive is the 500 W W2MCF-500X. The 3 kW W2MCW-3000 costs €750 per day. If the job takes five days or more, the weekly rental costs the same or less, and training is then included in the price.
Is training included in the price of the machine?
When you buy a machine, operator training is part of the delivery. The training covers safe use of the machine and the settings for your own application. In a rental, product and safety training costs €75 (excl. VAT), but with a weekly rental it is free of charge. You get the training before the machine is put into use, and during the rental period you can ask us for advice if the job brings surprises.
How much does laser cleaning cost as a service?
The price of outsourced cleaning work depends on the job, so there is no published price list for the service. When you give the work to us, we are responsible for the machine, the work and the result. Tell us what needs to be cleaned and where, and we will send you a price. If you want to do the work yourself, compare the price of the service with a weekly rental, which includes training.
Is leasing available for a laser cleaning machine?
Yes. A flexible leasing agreement is available for all our models, from the mini cleaners to the heavy W2MCW machines, and for W2MCF and W2MCW machines the contract lasts 60 months. Leasing is a good fit when the cleaning need is ongoing and you do not want to pay for the investment in one go. Request a machine-specific leasing quote so you can compare the monthly cost with both buying and the sum of the rental days over the same time period.
What other costs are there besides the machine?
Protective equipment and local exhaust ventilation come on top of the machine. Laser safety glasses cost €150, a supplied-air respirator €795 and an XL300 extractor €2,730 (excl. VAT). Laser cleaning requires no blasting media or cleaning chemicals. No water is needed either. However, extraction filters and protective lenses in the cleaning head need to be replaced as required. Our online store also sells a protective lens for the cleaning head as a spare part, which costs €80 for machines up to 300 W.
Should I buy my own machine or rent one?
Usage is the deciding factor. A need of a few weeks a year is covered by renting, because about 35 weekly rentals already equal the purchase price of a machine. If you clean every week, your own machine or leasing can be cheaper. Renting also lets you gain your own experience of the machine and its power before the purchase decision, which reduces the risk of choosing a model that is too small or too heavy-duty.
